ME

Memphis based photographer, Kori LaVire, has been honing her photography skills since 2010. Picking up a camera after the birth of her second child, she discovered her true passion lies in Sports Photography. She served as team photographer of the Mississippi RiverKings for three seasons, stopping only when the team folded. Without a home team Kori began working for a minor league news website, thesinbin.net and in her first season she published two photo stories, marrying her photos and the written word. 

Her current role as Photography Editor of TheSinBin blends her love of hockey, photography, and exploring the human side of pro athletes. Overseeing all images on the site, as well as coaching budding sports photographers, while still having access to teams and players, has allowed her to continue doing what she loves and making positive changes in a male dominated, sometimes unfeeling, industry. Her love of people combined with her love of art embraces and explores the idea of what hockey is. 

I was born and raised in the North but now I live in the South because I was tired of being cold.  Now I'm an ice hockey photographer because apparently I missed being cold. The irony is not lost on me. 

I live in a tiny house with a dog who thinks she’s a person and way too many people.  But we're happy and it works for us.  Sometimes my hair is teal or blue or pink or whatever mood I’m in.  My lipstick is usually blue or purple or black.

I love Jesus and have way to much fun with my friends and our young adult ministry.
